Dr. Amarnath Ananthanarayanan

Dr. Amarnath Ananthanarayanan (Amar) is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Bharti AXA General Insurance. Amar brings with him over a decade and half of experience and in-depth understanding and knowledge in insurance & consumer finance, varied functional proficiencies and cross continent exposure.

Under his leadership, Bharti AXA was awarded “Best Insurance Company in the Private Sector-General” at the BFSI Awards, 2014; “Excellence award” from Indian Economics Society in 2014, “Best Viral Marketing campaign” and “Best Integrated Marketing Campaign” awards at the Youth Marketing Awards, 2014, Bharti Change maker Gold award from Bharti Group for excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility; “Editor’s choice award” at Finnoviti, 2013, “Claims Initiative of the year” at the Star of the Industry award, 2012, “Personal Lines Growth Leadership Award 2011” at the India Insurance Awards 2011 and the “Best Product Innovation Award” and “Commercial Lines Growth Leadership Award” at India Insurance Awards 2012. Bharti AXA GI also won the “Risk Manager of the Year” award at the Asia Insurance Industry Awards 2011. The company is also the proud winner of “Best Employer Brand” award at IPE BFSI Awards 2012.

Amar is also the recipient of the prestigious “Udyog Rattan” award in 2014 which was awarded by Indian Economics Society. He was recognized as one of “India’s Hottest Young Executives” by Business Today in 2010 and was one of the 10 head honchos chosen as role models by The Economic Times for “Young Leaders” in 2011.

Prior to joining Bharti AXA, Amar worked with GE in various capacities for over a decade and has received several accolades for his outstanding leadership skills. As the Regional Insurance Leader, GE Money Asia, was awarded “One of Top Three Service Providers Of The Year For Asia” Award In 2007 by the Asia Insurance Review.

Amar comes from an academic background and used teach various economics courses at Rutgers University along with being a Research Associate. Prior to that he did his Master of Arts from Delhi School of Economics and his Bachelor of Arts from St. Stephen’s College.

He contributes to organizations involved in providing help for cancer patients as well as those that promote Karnatic music.

Amit Burman

Amit Burman is responsible for Dabur India's foray into processed foods business with the setting up of Dabur Foods Ltd. It is to Amit's credit today that Dabur Real and Hommade are household names. He is also responsible for driving all business strategy, development and communications at Dabur Foods.

Amit took on the responsibilities as the CEO of Dabur Foods in 1999 and forayed into the processed foods business with a range of ethnic cooking pastes & chutneys and packaged fruit juices. Amit stepped down as the CEO of Dabur Foods when the company was merged into Dabur India Ltd in July 2007. He has since been appointed as the Vice Chairman of Dabur India Ltd. .

Amit started his career at Dabur's Industrial Engineering Department where he was responsible for induction of machinery, method improvements, manpower reduction and improving product packaging. .

Amit obtained valuable experience at Colgate Palmolive, New York, USA where he worked in the Manufacturing Strategy Department, which operated as the internal consultants to the organization. Here he was responsible for a study done for the optimized location of Colgate's factories and warehouses. He also worked for six months at the Kansas plant which manufactured soaps and detergents. In 1990 he trained at Tishcon Corporation New York, USA where he was responsible for safety of stock and optimum inventories. .

Amit holds a MBA degree from University of Cambridge, a M.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University, USA and a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, USA. .

Amit is married to Divya and they have a daughter and a son. He has a private's pilot's license and enjoys flying. He is a regular at the gym and likes swimming and spending time with his family.

Geetu Verma

Harit Nagpal

Harit Nagpal is the Managing Director & CEO of Tata Sky Ltd., a joint venture of the Tata Group, Newscorp and Temasek. He is also the President of the DTH Operators Association of India. Before joining Tata Sky in August ’10 he was the Group Marketing Director of Vodafone plc based at Vodafone’s global head quarters in London. Harit followed his graduation in Chemical Engineering with an MBA from FMS at Delhi which he completed in 1985. In addition to the 9 years with Vodafone, in India and the U.K, during his 29 years of professional career, he has previously worked with Shoppers Stop, Pepsi, Marico and Lakme in various leadership positions in fields like Sales, Exports, Operations and Marketing.

Kamal Bali

Kamal Bali is the Managing Director of Volvo India Pvt. Ltd.With a career spanning three decades, predominantly in the Automotive (tractors) and the CE industry, Kamal has worked for well-known Indian brands and also established and developed multinational corporations in India. He has had a broad experience in the functional areas of sales, marketing, finance, human resources, and exercised significant P&L responsibilities.

An engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kamal began his professional career with Eicher Group in 1981. Later, he headed the Sales function for Escorts’ Tractors &ClaasHarvestors nationally, followed by the position of CEO & Managing Director for Same Deutz -Fahr Group in India, and Escorts Construction Equipment. Prior to joining Volvo India, Kamal was working as the President & CEO of LeeBoy India Construction Equipment Private Limited.

Ranjan Kapur

Ranjan Kapur is currently Country Manager - India of WPP, the world’s largest communications group and the holding company that owns among others, JWT, Ogilvy, Grey, Y&R and Bates, some of the largest advertising agencies worldwide and in India.

Ranjan is a veteran of the advertising business having spent 38 years with Ogilvy and nine years with WPP. He retired as Chairman of Ogilvy in December 2003 and took up his current assignment. He was honoured in 2008 with the Industry’s Lifetime Achievement Award from AAAI.

He is an ex-Citibanker. Ranjan has worked in several countries with Ogilvy, including New York and in his last assignment prior to becoming Chairman of the Indian company he held a regional assignment managing Ogilvy’s worldwide clients in Asia Pacific. He was based in Singapore.

Ranjan is currently on the Boards of Pidilite Industries, Abbott India Limited among others. He is also involved in his personal capacity in the development of technology based on-line and mobile services companies.

Ranjan heads the Fund-raising Committee at the Indian Cancer Society. He recently spearheaded its Campaign of Hope which is a special fund raising drive and awareness programme to escalate India’s fight against cancer. He is Vice Chairman of its National Managing Committee.

Ranjan in his spare time, runs a wine club and dabbles in cartooning, painting & sculpting.

Ranjan was born in Lahore on 25 November, 1942 and holds a Masters in English from DelhiUniversity.

Sangeeta Pendurkar

Sangeeta Pendurkar joined Kellogg India in October 2010. She has over twenty five years of Marketing, Sales & General Management experience, spanning across three sectors – packaged goods, pharmaceuticals and financial services.

Prior to joining Kellogg, Ms. Pendurkar was with Coca-Cola India, where she worked as Vice President, Strategy for India & South-West Asia and as Business Head - Commercial Beverages. Before Coca-Cola, she worked with HSBC Bank, as their CMO for India and subsequently for the Middle East Region.

She spent seven years of her career with Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (HUL) in various roles in Marketing. Her career started in 1988, with Novartis India Ltd.

Ms. Pendurkar holds a graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a management degree in Marketing.

She is married to Sandeep Pendurkar and during her spare time enjoys reading and music. She is an avid art collector.

Saugata Gupta

Thomas Puliyel

Thomas Puliyel has a postgraduate degree in management from IIM Kolkata.

He has over three decades of work experience in market research. He began his career in Operations Research Group in 1977 and joined IMRB in 1981 as Manager, Overseas Projects. He was associated with IMRB till early 1992 as Senior Vice President after which he moved to set up Research International India as Country Manager. He returned to IMRB in September 2000 as President.

He was the President of MRSI (Market Research Society of India) between 1993-’95 and again between 2006-’09.
