Matthew Amroliwala
Matthew Amroliwala is the main presenter for BBC World News’ flagship news and discussion programme Global.
He joined the international news channel in September 2014 after being a lead presenter on the BBC’s UK rolling news network for 17 years.
Born and raised in Yorkshire, Matthew joined the BBC in 1989 after initially embarking on a career as an accountant.
During his career he has worked as a foreign correspondent, a political correspondent and as a news reporter. He has covered many of the major news stories in the last two decades both at home and abroad. As a presenter he broadcast continuously for six hours on the day of the 7/7bombings in London while as a foreign correspondent he has reported from Bosnia, New York and Washington.
Matthew has also been at the forefront of the BBC’s UK political coverage on its domestic rolling news channelhaving covered four general elections and presented all the major set piece events of the Westminster political calendar such as the Budget and the Queen’s Speech.
He was nominated by the Television and Radio Industry Club as Reporter of the Year in 1993 for his reporting on the Troubles in Northern Ireland and went on to cover the IRA ceasefire in 1997 and the Good Friday Agreement.

Sir William Mark Tully
He is the former Bureau Chief of BBC, New Delhi. He worked for BBC for a period of 30 years before resigning in July 1994. He held the position of Chief of Bureau, BBC, Delhi for 20 years. Sir Tully was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1985 and was awarded the Padma Shree in 1992. He was knighted in the New Year Honors 2002, receiving a KBE and in 2005 he received the Padma Bhushan. Amritsar: Mrs. Gandhi's Last Battle is his first book which was co authored by his colleague Satish Jacob. Some books that he has authored/co authored include Raj to Rajiv: 40 Years of Indian Independence, No Full Stops in India, The Heart of India, India in Slow Motion and India's Unending Journey.
Jawhar Sircar
Jawhar Sircar is an Indian civil servant of 40 years experience and is presently the Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati, that supervises the two national public service broadcasting networks of India, namely, All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan (DD), with nearly 580 stations.
He has been Secretary in the Government of India (Ministry of Culture) from November 2008 to February 2012 and was responsible for introducing several new schemes and reforms in the culture sector. He was awarded the first ever British Museum Medal for piloting museum reforms in the country.
Prior to this he has handled different portfolios in Finance and Industry for almost 18 years, both in the Central and State Governments.
In the last 3 years, he has been able to turn around the public broadcaster a bit, through policy analysis, introspection and change: from infructuous investment in obsolete technologies.
In Doordarshan he has initiated the move from archaic terrestrial to digital transmission, and could also divert investments in AIR from the dying Medium Wave to FM Radio transmission, which opens it up to 80 crore mobile handsets.
He has introduced several wide ranging changes in AIR & DD where the ‘Look & Feel’ of DD News, DD Bharati & other channels and transmissions has improved considerably. He has been elected Vice President of the world’s largest body of Broadcasters in Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union which represents 67 countries and 230 members.
